Feedback from happy Teachers with excited students…

⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ “I'm soooooo glad to have found your AWESOME works!  My students are enjoying learning & playing your pieces!!!! I'm enjoying hearing them,  & even parents are enjoying hearing practice time at home!!  All of that support for students is a total game changer!” - Diane Norcott, Owner & Master Teacher at Norcott Music Studios

⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ “I was so excited to find Susan's website with so many of her compositions and books available for purchase.  She offers fresh pieces that appeal to my students.  After having taught for many years, I was searching for something new and different other than the old standard books, and I found it on Susan's site.  My students are excited to begin playing her pieces because they have "personality" that appeals to the children.  They have a more modern sound to them than the older books.  Thank you, Susan!” - Yvette Keller, Piano Teacher.

⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ “As soon as I heard these Castle Tales pieces I thought of individual students that I have that would love them! And I was right! They are practicing more than ever because the songs are engaging and fun! Thanks Susan!” - Tina White, Private Teacher

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “A most expressive collection of six beautifully written piano solos. These pieces can be played as a set or individually, and would be crowd pleasers in any performance. There is no lack of gorgeous melodies, or exciting rhythms and mysterious atmospheres. The student benefits from learning patterns in various hand positions across a huge expanse of the keyboard. This rarely occurs in most other repertoire I teach, especially in Classical music. The student also recognizes linear RH melodies, constructed not only of traditional rhythm, but also in syncopation and different articulations. Finding melody notes in ties and staccato dots, and discovering bass notes juxtaposed with well placed tenutos and accent marks would be a lot of fun! Dynamics and pedaling are well marked, and exploring the colorful sounds from these notations would be a great experience! Your students will enjoy learning and performing these memorable pieces!!”

-Vida Scott, Master Teacher, Musical Arts Center of San Antonio.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “I really like the rhythm in this one - it sort of reminds me of a James Bond movie because of the cool chord progressions. I think it must be great fun to play also!!

Great work, Susan! You keep coming up with such great originals!”

More Music for Elementary…

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I wanted to give a shout out and review of Susan Staple Bell’s new Halloween collection for beginners! I actually had asked her if she would be willing and interested in putting together a collection geared towards the younger kids and beginning students and low and behold, a couple days later this wonderful collection was released with a variety of pieces, some with teacher duets, backing tracks and some with lyrics!! While you’re there, you need to check out my favorite piece, Funky Gecko and Rockin’ Blues, plus many other collections that truly inspire my kids to practice more!!! -Melinda Pokorzynski, Master Teacher.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "These pieces from Castle Tales, Vol. 4 are imaginative and fun without being too long or difficult for newer students. There is a variety of styles and all are very catchy and memorable. There is ample room for exploring and developing artistry in these pieces as well. The fun cover art is a fantastic bonus to these pieces which my students love!

-Rachel Doornink, Private Teacher & Studio Owner.

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ “Susan’s compositions are such fun and I love the way she plays with such drama! Her arrangement of “Great Balls of Fire” made one of my students, who is a chord/rote learner only, so happy & excited! Thank you Susan!!” -Pamela Friske, Teacher

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ “These Minor Moods pieces are fantastic. I love the stylistic and rhythmic variety in the set. Susan went out of her way to help make my order perfect for me. I am excited for my Spring Recital to feature some of these works!” -Rachel, Teacher

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “I have totally fallen under the spell of this rumba piano solo, Shaken: Not Stirred, a oh-so-smooth new original composition by Susan Staples Bell. It is part of a larger collection of piano music that is spy-thriller themed, called Mission: Intrigue. I may be looking for a friend to play the percussion part on this once I’ve gotten the piece down. Bongo drums, shakers, anyone? And oh, how do you like YOUR martini?”

Susan is an absolute super star!

-We commissioned Susan to write a new piece, “New Orleans Streetcar Boogie” for our online program. The kids are loving it! They wanted to see it in action, but when they couldn’t find it on YT, so they watched several of her other videos. The student actually said, “I really love her music & videos, they are so expressive and fun!”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I really like this one! I have played it over and over. I'm really looking forward to teaching my students some of Susan's pieces- they are so unique and fun to play! And I love her website too, it makes it so easy to make choices. I am looking forward to purchasing additional pieces!

Take a trip in your mind’s eye to Ireland: sip coffee outside a countryside cottage, hold hands as you stroll along the River Shannon, get lost in Ashtown Castle ruins, and breathe in the fresh air filled with rosemary & thyme…. This original melody is very much inspired by all things Irish- and will be quickly stuck in your mind. Great for working on your “expressivo”, cantabile tone and finger facility. The waltz time signature creates a gentle swaying that transports the listener.

One of the most important things I’ve learned,

if the student doesn’t like the music, they aren’t going to practice it!

That understanding led me to begin composing for my own students.

now I create pieces to be fun and interesting to play.

At the same time, my pieces are carefully crafted with a targeted pedagogical purpose that make them a breeze to teach!

I hope you find something here to inspire you & your students!

My compositions are inspired by more than 30 years of teaching experience.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “Susan has created the most useful Improvisation Study I’ve found yet.”

Suitable for all Levels, Private Study, or Group Lessons. Dapples & Grey’s was a huge success with my Multi Level Teen Group Piano Class! I’ve been trying different approaches for improvisation over the years, but this study worked the best yet. Super easy to implement, the Teacher’s Notes are excellent, and the backing track held the attention of my sophisticated teen’s imaginations right away! My students loved it! Can’t wait for her next Multi Level Improvisation Study.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Minor Moods is such a fantastic collection- I LOVE every piece in the Collection. And all the pieces are so different! It makes teaching fun to have such creative repertoire. And I love that I can purchase a STUIDO LICENSE- it’s my chance to honor the composer’s efforts.” — Deborah

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “I love Reynosa Rumba! You surprise us with modern harmonies in a traditional latin rhythm. Very appealing! This will be a favorite for Piano Teachers & Students alike.”

-Elizabeth Swift, Composer.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “I have received a number of duets by Susan and my students and I are excited by these imaginative and challenging pieces.

Haunting House Horror, with 4 levels is a nice Halloween piece. I have my students make videos in their costumes playing Halloween music.

We can't wait to begin Christmas music! Carol of the Bells is a huge favorite each season. I expect Susan's Carol of the Bells duet piece will be requested by many.

The Texas Landscapes duets are very popular with students. I'm challenging students to prepare a duet with me and we'll do them at spring recital. All the music is just right for my intermediate students. I better get practicing to hold up my end....lol!

Keep up the good work Susan!
