Part 1: Melody of a Carol
Part 2: Chords to accompany
Part 3: Bass Line
Part 4: Descant/Alternate Melody
Page 2: Accompaniment Part for Teacher or Older Students And Example Arrangement
How can you use this book?
Keep it Simple: For younger students- Teach each of the 4 parts separately, then let them choose which part to play. It now becomes an instant Ensemble.
Next Step: When students are comfortable with the first 4 parts, add the Accompaniment from P. 2, and repeat as desired.
More Options: Play Part 2 in Right Hand and Part 3 in Left Hand for another accompaniment option.
Improvisation: Use the Accompaniment as a basis for students to try creating their own melodies.
Create your own arrangement: Use the example arrangement as a suggestion to combine elements to create your own!
