Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, Piano Solo Arrangement, Inspired by Lead Sheets

$5.00

Hark! The Herald Angels Sing

Short & Sweet! Folks love to sing along with this one, so if you need to, feel free to repeat from the beginning. Use the last 4 measures as an optional Introduction or transition between repeats.

This arrangement is inspired by my Method Book - 20 Favorite Christmas Songs: How to Play Lead Sheets. In the book, I use this carol to teach about playing Broken Open 5ths and Chord tones in the Right hand. This one similar to a modified hymn style.

Teaching Suggestion: What other patterns might work well with this melody? Repeated Blocked Octaves in quarter notes? 1 - 5 -8? Encourage your student to brainstorm possibilities.

Key: F Major

Time signature: 4/4. BPM = 106. A Stately March

Skill development: Left hand pattern as taught in my Method Book - 20 Favorite Christmas Songs: How to Play Lead Sheets. Study this arrangement to see how many other patterns I use, as well as: identify the chord symbols, what other chord tones are included? Broken 5ths in Left hand and added Chord tones in Right tones in Right hand. Shape the phrases to make it more musical. Don’t play it too fast!

Level: Early Intermediate

How long: 21 - 24 with optional repeat, measures. 1 Page. 1:00 minute performance time.

This is a Single License: One purchase - One copy. Thank for honoring the composer’s work by not sharing with anyone. Encourage them to purchase their own copy please!
