Are you ready to Jive? Space Jive is an Original Multi Level Ensemble that incorporates fun into learning!

Get your students excited about counting Rhythms by reading, playing, speaking, clapping, snapping, tapping, and moving.

Great for Recitals - you can encourage audience participation, Group Piano, and Flexible Ensembles.

How to use this Ensemble: Mix and Match parts as necessary. Early Intermediate Solo can stand alone, or Early Intermediate Duet alone, Late Elementary Solo alone, or Elementary with the Secondo part for a Teacher duet, or all the parts together!

How many Pianos do you need? Only 3, but the more the merrier! (1 for Late Elementary & Elementary - put Elementary an Octave higher. 1 for Duet and 1 for Early Intermediate Solo.)

Teaching focus of this Ensemble:

  • Multi-level ensemble experience. (multiple levels introduce a wider and deeper understanding of the music and speed up reading skills. This also adds to the length and complexity of the music, which elementary level students do not normally get. Ensemble playing encourages students to keep a steady beat and doesn’t let them stop - if they do, they have to jump back it!)

  • Introduce the C Blues scale. (the C blues scale opens up harmonies not usually heard in common method book pieces. This also enhances the experience in playing with accidentals.)

  • Experience rhythms and introduce syncopation. (Students can play syncopated rhythms with various options: speak, clap, snap, play - it’s up to you!)

FREE Backing Tracks included: Download yours here by clicking this link. Please download them to your computer for easy use. Included are 3 folders: SLOW, Medium and Up Tempo. You’ll find All Parts, Only Pianos, Performance track, and each part individually.

Options:

  • Elementary comes in 2 versions - 1 with Note Assist.

  • Late Elementary comes in 2 versions - 1: with Left Hand in Middle C position. 2: with Left Hand with thumb on Bass C.

  • Play all the parts together or Mix & Match parts.

  • Use Backing Tracks at the TEMPO that’s right for you. FREE Backing Tracks in 3 speeds: Slow, Medium, and Up Tempo.

Levels included: Elementary, Late Elementary, Early Intermediate. (Faber Level 1 - 2, ABRSM Grade 1 - 4.  RCM Grade 1 -4)

How Long: 33 pages total. 31 Pages Music. + Cover Art.
