This Collection of Solos was inspired by my Method Book, 20 Favorite Christmas Songs: How to Play Lead Sheets.

In the book, I take you from the very beginning, and teach you what a chord symbol is, what notes are in these chords, what Left hand patterns would be good to use, as well as suggestions for playing in different styles so you can create your own arrangements.

So, I took my own advice, which led me to create these 10 pieces - using the same patterns from the book for each song, but then I explored some more. What if we added an introduction, or a transition, or a key change? Maybe combine several patterns together? The results are polished arrangements, suitable for recital, church, study or enjoyment. You can study each piece as a learning tool as well. What other patterns did I use? What style does it portray? Does dynamics play an important role? Does use of the pedal contribute to the mood? You can learn so much by analyzing other pieces - then incorporate these ideas into your own music making.

Pieces included in this collection:

Jingle Bells, O Christmas Tree, Good King Wenceslas, Up on the Housetop, Silent Night, Jolly Ol’ St. Nicholas, The First Noel, Joy to the World, We Three Kings, and Coventry Carol.

Each of these pieces are also available as individual, Single License Solos. More detailed descriptions about each piece are listed there.
