Ready to Be a Rock Star, Multi Level Piano Ensemble
Do your students want to be a Rock Star?
Give them the chance to feel cool while learning important piano concepts. This fun piece will get students of all ages excited about playing and counting.
This Multi Level Ensemble is part of a series called, Video Game Power Ups: Flexible music that can be used as progressive solos or as Multi Level Ensembles.
Just like a video game, students need to pass the level before unlocking the treasures found in the next. In this music, we find that each level teaches a particular skill that is needed before advancing to the next level. But after all the work is done (practice time!) the students find they have learned everything they need to achieve the final victory! (the hardest solo on Level 5).
This music starts at the beginning (Warm Up Level with basic whole notes, learning hand position notes) and progresses through a total of 6 levels, to achieve the coolest solo - Rock Star Level 5! Teaching every skill the student needs to know, 1 level at a time.
Don’t worry, each Level is satisfying on it’s own, so students won’t feel left out as they begin the journey. Especially, when they play along with the cool Backing Track.
Works well for Groups:
Students play parts at their own level, then progress when ready. And play all the parts together - making this a fun ensemble!
Use the Backing Tracks for practice or performance.
Progressive skill development
Counting rhythms.
Right hand: Middle C Penta scale.
Left hand: Low Penta scale, with slight movement.
Last 2 levels: Left hand movement in I, IV, ii, V Pop music style.
Staccato style playing.
Introduction to eighth notes.
Repetitive pop tune melody, with eighth note syncopation - easy to learn by rote.
Backing Track repeats 4 times to give students lots of opportunities.
