Each dinosaur comes to life through its own original piano solo—from the armored strength of Ankylosaurus and the mysterious depths of Mosasaurus to the soaring flight of Pteranodon and the mighty roar of T-Rex. Along the way, students explore important musical concepts including intervals, hand-position movement, accidentals, key signatures, articulation, dynamics, musical road maps, creative listening, and improvisation.
But this is more than a piano collection:
Each dinosaur includes music, discovery activities, creativity challenges, and fascinating facts—all in one adventure.
Every piece is paired with Explorer Training & Discovery pages that transform theory, technique, creativity, and dinosaur facts into hands-on adventures. Students investigate musical clues, complete challenges, experiment with sounds, create their own musical ideas, and learn about the incredible prehistoric creatures that inspired the music.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is a great collection! I have a student who loves dinosaurs who is loving the songs already! I love the different personalities in each piece. The explorer pages are so helpful for clearly explaining the learning objective for each piece, too. I am excited to introduce this collection to my other students!
Widdowson Piano Studio –
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Susan, I just printed all nine Dinosaur Files pieces today and slipped the explorer training and discover pages into page protectors and two copies of each piece in between. Lo and behold, the unmotivated student walked through my door and I pulled it out! We agreed that next week we could start Ankylosaurus together! Thankful for this series that I hope will turn around his lukewarm interest!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’ve got 9 THRILLED kids busting through the door every week begging to start with their dinosaur piece! No little kid sounding stuff here! These big pieces feel enormous but magically, they aren’t as hard as they sound & the kids are soooo eager to play (meaning there’s lots of practice going on) …. but we aren’t calling it “practice” just “discovery digs” & “palentology play”. I thought each of 9 kids would learn 1 piece but I suspect I’m gonna have 9 paleontologist-pianists who discover the whole collection!….. I think we might need volume 2 soon!
